These terms cover your use of StayVale. Plain language is intended throughout; where a sentence could be read two ways, we will read it the way that favours you.
What we provide
A tool for building a guest guidebook and publishing it at its own web address, with a QR code for the door. You can build and preview for free. Publishing requires a paid plan.
We aim to keep published guides available continuously, but we do not promise a specific uptime figure, and you should not rely on a StayVale guide as the only way a guest can reach essential information such as an emergency number or a door code.
Your content stays yours
Everything you write and upload remains your property. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, and to display it to people who open your guide. That permission ends when you delete the content.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload, including photographs, and for the accuracy of what your guide tells guests.
Billing
Plans are billed monthly in advance through Polar, which acts as merchant of record. Prices are shown before you pay. Your plan sets how many guides you may have published at once.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next charge.
- On cancellation your guides stop being published at the end of the paid period. Your content is not deleted, and republishing restores it.
- If we raise prices, existing subscriptions keep their current price for at least sixty days after we tell you.
- If the service is unusable for an extended period through our fault, ask and we will refund that period.
Acceptable use
Do not use StayVale to:
- publish content you do not have the right to publish;
- publish material that is unlawful, or that harasses or endangers someone;
- impersonate another business or person;
- attack the service or attempt to reach other hosts' guides or accounts.
Ending it
You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your account and guides.
We may suspend or end an account that breaks the acceptable use section. Except where the law requires immediate action, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a reasonable chance to fix it first, and we will refund any unused paid period.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes
If we change these terms we will update the date above and email hosts with a live guide. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it; if you do not, cancel and we will refund the unused period.
